Ballerina Wraps Up Promo Run with Explosive New Footage
Ana de Armas is your new point of contact with the world of John Wick, as the final trailer for the spin-off film Ballerina dropped yesterday.
Set during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Ballerina will open theaters on June 6, 2025, and is the second John Wick spin-off from the Keanu Reeves-led series to hit the big screen (after The Gunslinger and Red). And like that previous entry, it appears that Ballerina will capture some of that essential franchise DNA without feeling like a retread.
Director: Ana de Armas in the lead. Costars: Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, Gabriel Byrne, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Norman Reedus, Catalina Sandino Moreno, David Castañeda.
The Synopsis for From the World of John Wick: Ballerina
After becoming “excommunicado” from the High Table for killing crime lord Santino D’Antonio, Keanu Reeves’ John Wick sought refuge with the Ruska Roma crime family in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. While he’s only shown there for a few brief moments, the film also showcased the unique sect of ballerina-assassins being trained by the Director of the Ruska Roma.
It’s during these same events that we’re introduced to Ballerina’s central protagonist, Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas). An orphaned child, Eve was adopted by the Ruska Roma and became one of the most lethal ballerina assassins under the tutelage of The Director. Now a fully grown woman, the young assassin must navigate a very personal quest of vengeance with Wick’s old world buzzing around her.

Ana de Armas plays Eve, who trains under the ultra-violent Ruska Roma organized crime family and becomes a deadly ballerina assassin in her own right.
As one of the more exciting new films of 2025, a lot of From the World of John Wick: Ballerina centers around a very specific character who is an essential part of a seminal franchise. And while these films have a track record for handling that type of legacy, one wrong move could also be a disservice to Ana de Armas and the Ballerina team. Luckily, everything looks spot on in the above trailer.
Ballentine Begins The Final Stretch Towards US Theaters (VIDEO)
Ana de Armas starred in John Wick’s upcoming spin-off, and she’s returned to serve up one last trailer to stoke excitement for the film’s release in theaters.
Ballerina’s newest trailer begins very John Wick-like, with Ana de Armas shot in a long close-up against a stark, inky black background. If you watch closely, you can see that our new protagonist is a prisoner of the gun of the franchise’s namesake character — held by Keanu Reeves, no less, in a sort of creative inversion of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’s opening seconds. Then things start to get moving.
Flashes of new footage mix with that released before, playing in quick succession as each new sequence comes off of the last like a pinball ricocheting against targets. Shot in a slightly colder palette, there’s an immediacy to these moments that paint a quick portrait of this new character while showing off the hard work that she’s done on her craft. As gunfire and choreographed combat with stylized balletic violence, Ballerina looks like it’ll give Ana de Armas a chance to fully own the screen, just with a bit of Keanu Reeves’ help.
And just in case there was any lingering doubt that this would be just another film in the same category as John Wick movies, the trailer is capped with a line that should answer any lingering concerns. And in a hushed, icy tone, Ana de Armas tells her ally that “this isn’t done until they’re dead.” If it’s a one-liner this franchise needs, it’s an equal chance to open theaters with a bang that the Ballerina team is more than up to.
