Justin Bieber Breaks Silence With DMX Clip — Is There a Hidden Meaning?

Justin Bieber’s Weekend Instagram Post Has Fans Asking Questions (Video)

Justin Bieber has seemingly made a post that could be seen as taking a shot at weed.

On Sunday, the 31-year-old musician, who has been rumored to be eyeing a comeback tour, took to Instagram to post a video of rapper DMX in a conversation with self-help author and pastor Iyanla Vanzant.

The post, which has since been deleted, was reposted on Bieber’s Instagram Story. In the clip from a 2013 season of Iyanla: Fix My Life, DMX candidly talks about staying sober.

Vanzant asked the “Fame” rapper if he “wants [s] to live your life as a clean man?” to which DMX replied: “No weed, no drinking, nothing? Why would I?” Vanzant says that if he stops doing drugs and drinking, he would become “a clear, pure vessel for the voice of God.” “I think I’m exactly where I need to be with God,” DMX retorted.

The “Lonely” singer did not share any caption or context to the post, but he pulled the video from the Los Angeles-based “Gassy” account, a marijuana dispensary account. Bieber did not add any comment on his post, but fans and followers are left to wonder what he currently thinks of drug use.

No Comment, But Fans Pointing Fingers

The absence of Bieber’s caption on the post left room for interpretation of his intentions in sharing the video. It can be seen as an indirect way for the Baby singer to express an anti-drug-use or specifically anti-weed stance.

The pop star has been vocal in the past years about his life transformation, and religion and spirituality play an important role in the singer’s life. It is also no secret that Bieber and Churchome pastor Judah Smith are close, and the Christian pastor has been a long-time source of guidance for the musician.

In the clip, DMX shares some raw moments about his life journey and relationship with God. It could not be determined if Bieber is going to address his fans on the topic.

The Instagram Story did not contain a direct statement or explanation, but it was not the first time he posted pictures of himself with bongs or in settings that suggested marijuana consumption. It is noteworthy that in recent years, there were several such posts, and some of his fans and followers were concerned about his health condition, given his anxiety and other health issues.

Legal, But Bieber Said No Hard Drugs

California has legalized recreational marijuana, and the singer lives in the state with his wife, Hailey Bieber, and their son Jack Bieber, who is almost one year old. Bieber’s rep previously denied that the singer used hard drugs.

In an interview with TMZ in February, the pop star’s representative said: “The recurring narrative that Justin is using hard drugs is not true.” The statement continued with the reassurance that the singer “is in one of the best places in his life” as he is fully present in fatherhood and works on his music.

The representative also confirmed that the previous year had been “very transformative” for Bieber, as he parted ways with several business partners and friends. According to his rep, Bieber is on the right path by creating a distance between himself and the people with “whom he was no longer vibing.”

July was another notable month for the artist, as Bieber released his seventh album, Swag, on July 11. The album was generally received with high praise by critics and included emotional ballads for the singer’s wife and son, as well as humorous skits with social media personality Druski.

Druski makes an appearance on the album as a therapist, and many of the tracks are mock recordings of “therapy sessions.” Bieber and Druski’s chemistry provides much-needed comic relief to an otherwise deeply personal album. He also briefly discusses his mental health challenges and the road to self-discovery.

Bieber: Touring? A Father? A Husband? Swagga?

Fans are left to interpret what the inclusion of these therapy skits with Druski means for Bieber’s self-image and representation of his identity to the public. While Swag is his most personal album so far, many are also left to wonder whether he is trying to take back control of his public persona and push back against the current stigma of him being super religious and clean-cut.

While it is unknown if Bieber will tour in support of Swag, there is a rumor that the singer may be coming to Australia for a potential tour. However, at the time of writing, there is no confirmation from either Bieber or Frontier Touring.

Frontier Touring also told Rolling Stone they have “no information” regarding the singer’s tour dates. Bieber has not toured internationally since 2022 when his Justice World Tour was canceled due to health problems.

Fans are now waiting to see if Bieber will go on another tour, especially since there have been reports that Bieber had to cancel several shows on the Justice World Tour due to pneumonia. After what he has been through in the past, Bieber will be back in front of his fans on a global scale for the first time since his 2022 tour.
